Tayrona, beach and mountain

The Tayrona is one of the most spectacular National Parks in Colombia . It is made up of a series of marine and terrestrial landscapes, as well as the archaeological and cultural heritage of the indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta . The island takes its name from Gorgona, that mythological being whose head was full of snakes because the conqueror who discovered it was surprised by the large number of snakes he found. Among other things, the first most feared and safe prison in the country once existed here, today it is possible to visit its ruins. To get there, take a bus or boat from Cali to Bueventura and then another boat to the island, or you can also take a plane from Cali to Guapí and from there a boat to the island.
