How to get to Concha Bay?

 

To get to Bahia , you have to be in Santa Marta , isn't it obvious? Well, after that, you have four options to get to Concha Bay .

The first and easiest is to go by own or rented car to Bahía Concha by placing the GPS, the second option is to hire a tour to Bahía Concha in which you do not have to worry about except about enjoying. The third option is to take a taxi to Bahía Concha , this option is not cheap, but fast. And, the fourth option is to go by public transport.

The bus or bus, you take it in the carrera 5th in the Center of the city. You must take the bus in direction to Bastidas.  And on the bus, you ask the driver to leave you as close to Concha Bay as possible or where the cars to get there are taken . Then you take a bus to Bahía Concha.

 

Information and recommendations when visiting Bahia Concha

 

Bahía Concha is an area protected since June by Natural National Parks, which adopted a series of measures for its protection and conservation that you have to keep in mind.

  • Due to its fragile ecosystem, the entry of visitors has been restricted to two thousand per day, and the beach is only open to the public on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon.
  • You do not have to pay a ticket to enter Concha Bay but insurance that costs approximately 4,000 COP in addition to listening to an environmental talk for proper behavior within the protected area.
  • The entry of cars is prohibited, so the access of visitors has to be through the areas that are marked.
  • The entry of plastic bags, cigarettes and icopor to Bahía Concha is prohibited, remember, you have to be a responsible tourist.
  • You can camp in Concha Bay , you just have to take your own camping tent and sleep in the area indicated for this activity.
  • Due to the clarity and beauty of the water, Concha Bay is ideal for snorkeling .
  • Remember to bring fresh clothes, bathing suit, sunscreen, glasses, water and walking shoes or tennis.
